Past meets Present.

30+ years ago as a pre-teen and teenager my love of Fantasy and Science Fiction lead me to the worlds oldest roleplaying game and many other greats of the time. The classic literature of  JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock, Jack Vance and others was the primary backbone for the love of these games. While I moved on to other things and hobbies as I grew older, it always held a nostalgic place in my heart. Saddened was I as I occasionally followed the goings on from afar and saw how the game had become about something entirely different as it matured and was popularized. 5 years or so ago, I started reading about the independent "retro clone" movement based on the original Gygax game. I've watched this develop with great interest as  autonomous authors and game publishers claimed the game back for themselves with a new vision based on the original.. While there are several notable current publications, its is Dungeon Crawl Classics by Goodman Games that has crystallized and recaptured what I missed from my youth. So from the Tower of Zeiros this what we will play for the time being, less we get bored and move on to something else! Our first effort commenced with the introductory module- Sailors on the Starless Sea..
